"I CAN COPE" Cancer Support Group

Where: Parkview Adventist Medical Center, 329 Maine St. Brunswick, Family Life Center
"I CAN COPE" is free a 9-month educational series through the American Cancer Society and The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing for cancer patients, survivors, and their loved ones. These classes are designed to provide education, increase skills and reduce stress by presenting information about cancer-related topics including:
- Diagnosis and Treatment
- Side Effects of Treatment
- Emotions and Self-esteem
- Cancer and Intimacy
- Communication Skills
- Community Resources
- Financial Concerns
- Pain Management
- Nutrition and Fatigue
Facilitators: Terri Quatrano-Simpson, LCSW and Marieke Giasson, OCN.
September 7: Exploring Self-Esteem and Intimacy: We will discuss the impact of cancer on self-esteem and intimacy while learning skills to increase communication with our friends and loved ones.
