A stereotactic breast biopsy is a test that uses digital imaging to guide a needle to an abnormality seen on a mammogram.
Parkview is currently accredited in ultrasound, breast ultrasound, CT, mammography and stereotactic breast biopsy.
ACR awards accreditation to hospitals for the achievement of high-practice standards after a peer review evaluation conducted by board-certified physicians, according to Parkview Vice President Sheryl McWilliams. “Parkview Adventist Medical Center makes quality patient care a high priority,” she said.
The ACR diagnostic and radiation oncology accreditation programs were the first programs the College introduced in 1966. Today, the ACR offers accreditation programs in nine fields and is recognized as a leader in medical imaging.
