“Palmer has been involved in strategic planning, community development and advocacy for many years,” McWilliams said. “We are pleased to have her join the Parkview team.”

Palmer will be responsible for communications, press relations, development and special events.

A Bangor native and graduate of the University of Maine at Orono, Palmer began her career as a reporter for the Portland Press Herald.  For several years, she edited the University of Maine's quarterly Alumni Magazine.

In 2004, Palmer secured federal and state grants for the Brevard County, Florida, Department of Health and Human Services and served on three nonprofit executive boards.  She also coordinated the prompt delivery of several million dollars of Volunteer Florida funds after hurricane disasters.

Before joining Parkview, she worked for Sweetser's Development Office in Saco.

Palmer's professional affiliations include the Association for Fundraising Professionals, United Way of Brevard County, Florida, the Maine Association of Nonprofits, the American Association of Grant Professionals and the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.
