Spirit of Women’s Walking Club meets every Tuesday at 3:30pm, we meet at the Water Street entrance of the Brunswick Walking Trail. It runs long the Androscoggin River between Grover Lane & Water Street. Walking provides a number of health benefits, including reducing cholesterol, body fat, risk of heart disease & osteoporosis, and enhances your mental and emotional wellbeing. In fact, research suggests that completing 10,000 steps each day will help you maintain a healthy weight as well as build bone and muscle mass. Our group will be made up of women of many different levels of fitness. All are welcome to join us for a fun non-competitive walk. Our goal is to walk consistently at a pace that is comfortable. So lace up those sneakers, drink your water and meet us to walk to a healthier you!
HeartCaring
HeartCaring is an initiative to motivate women to take action to protect their hearts. It offers educational support from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and encourages women to seek out their healthcare providers to discuss their concerns, their lifestyles, and risk factors. We want to make these important conversations easier and more convenient for women who are frequently far too busy caring for family, career, and community to focus on their own health. Visit the HeartCaring website.
